After nine years, two shops, one website and lots of friends made, I have decided to close Avant Garde. I will be busy working on another business in which I am a partner - Alikits. Avant Garde was established in 2003 as a contemporary jewellery gallery in Padstow, on the coast of north Cornwall, England. After six years as a gallery in the beautiful Cathedral City of Truro, Avant Garde is now run exclusively online, and still based in Truro. Owner Diddy Reeve’s ideology is to showcase the work of a group of Britain’s most talented modern jewellery designers in a way which does them justice, while at the same time providing jewellery lovers with an eclectic range of unusual, but wearable silver and gold pieces.

Designer exhibitors are of national and international renown, and a strong emphasis is placed on those who handmake jewellery in Cornwall. Each item is conceived, formed and hand finished by the designers, and to a very high standard. Selecting for quality is our aim, whether the jewellery be silver, gold or platinum, or indeed any of the other modern materials our jewellers use. The unusual jewellery is often set with precious and semi-precious stones, and of course we also offer the opportunity for bespoke silver and gold jewellery to be commissioned.

Because our unusual jewellery is handcrafted by the designers who conceive it, you can shop online for something unique, and unlike the gold and silver you will find in most jewellery shops in the UK.
