Louise’s fascination with adorning the body began as a child, and was channeled when she reached Middlesex University to complete a BA Hons degree in Jewellery design. After graduating, Louise began an apprenticeship with Hatton Garden Goldsmith Nicholas Phillippe. “Though my college years allowed me freedom to develop my ideas through various mediums, I wanted to add a more traditional training of silversmithing and metal work to my skills.” Louise went on to take on private commissions whilst working as a freelance designer for various jewellery manufacturing houses including designing and producing a range of jewellery for Agent Provocateur. In 2004 Louise was appointed assistant jewellery designer at Vivienne Westwood. She spent four years working alongside Laurent Rivaud designing the seasonal selling collections and creating catwalk pieces for the Paris and Milan shows. Summer 2008 saw the launch of Louise Wade’s own jewellery range, and at Avant Garde we are delighted to be able to bring it to our customers who we know will appreciate timeless and sensual design.
