Rob began his career in 1978 at the Alfred Dunhill silver mounting workshop. In 1998 he established his own workshop in Cornwall in order to realise his ambition of hand-crafting his own designs in silver. He also works in 9ct and 18ct gold. Rob now lives in Brittany, France. Rob’s work is a testament to his perfectionist approach as well as his sharp sense of design. He achieves that often elusive combination of modernity and timelessness in his creations. Each piece is made at the bench by Rob himself, starting with solid sheet and wire metal. He uses techniques which include bending, forging and soldering. Special attention is given to the final process of polishing the pieces, and it is this time consuming stage that gives Rob’s work the sensuousness and fluidity it is well known for.
